Medford man arrested and charged after driving into medical office building

(Update: Adding video)

MEDFORD, Ore. (KOBI) – The Medford Police Department announced charges will be filed nearly a week after a truck crashed into a local medical office building, KOBI-TV reported Thursday.

The driver who crashed a truck into a Medford medical office building last Friday, injuring an employee there, is facing DUII and other charges.

Police said both the driver and an office employee were hurt when, for an unknown reason, a pickup careened into the building at the intersection of Siskiyou Boulevard and Lazy Creek Road, just across from the Asante campus.

MPD says the 56-year-old female employee suffered serious injuries but is now in stable condition. The driver suffered minor injuries.

The Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction, or STAR team, has been investigating, and MPD arrested the driver of the Ford F-250, identified as 43-year-old Phillip John Hill.

He’s charged with DUII, assault, reckless endangerment, and reckless driving.
