Bandon’s West Coast Game Park Safari investigation discovers guns, drugs, $1.6 million in cash; owner arrested

BANDON, Ore. (KTVZ) - On Tuesday, Coos Bay sheriff's deputies arrested 52-year-old Brian Tenney in connection to the multi-agency investigation into Bandon's West Coast Game Park Safari that he owns.

A Tuesday evening release from Coos County Sheriffs office detailed finding of the four day long multi-agency investigation of the park.

Officers in the park discovered 44 firearms, including one that had been modified into a machine gun. The investigation further discovered nearly $1.6 million in cash, cashier’s checks, bonds, and certificates. Furthermore, a Coos County, South Coast Interagency Narcotics Team (SCINT) investigation discovered nearly 80 grams of methamphetamine with an additional 8 grams of cocaine. The meth was linked to park agent Brian Tenny who was arrested and charged with methamphetamine possession, manufacturing, and intent to distribute.

The April investigation into the West Coast Game Park Safari was launched after the Oregon State Police, Coos County Sheriffs Office, and the USDA each received multiple complaints regarding the parks condition and the well-being the animals in its care.

Further investigations fro the USDAs Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service revealed nearly 50 repeat heath and wellness violations.

This month's investigation seized nearly 310 animals belonging to the park. Some of the parks animals including a camel, a kinkajou, and a chicken had to be euthanized by authorities due to their condition.
