Warming up heading into the weekend
There is a ridge of high pressure off the coast that is fairly stationary and will keep the region dry and sunny. Another by-product of this ridge will be a gradual warm up each day. The normal high temperature for early June is around 70°, and our forecast is calling for above normal air temperature readings. Highs are expected in the middle 70s today and Wednesday, then the 80s Thursday and Friday, followed by the 90s this weekend.
The dry air is still being impacted by area prescribed burns, one near Sisters today is throwing up some widespread smoke. The smoke is not rising much and being clipped by the wind and will be transported from the north to south today before relaxing tonight.
The main issue with the weather this week will be the increasing warmth each day. Other than that, we are looking at a quiet pattern into the weekend.
If you are out and about this week, remember that the water is still cold from the melting snow, but it is going to be refreshing in the heat later this week. Always exercise caution while recreating on land or in the water. This is a great week to get out and enjoy what we live here for, the outdoor life.
Please stay safe.
