Central Oregon clears out as stormy weather moves east
Yesterday ended up being a pretty active day through portions of Southern and Central Oregon. Hundreds of lightning strikes through the area yesterday will bring some concern of wildfires over the next few days. Keep an eye out for any potential new fires. Although there were some heavy downpours associated with yesterday’s storms, ground fuel is likely a little dry after the recent hot and dry pattern.
Storm chances move east today, although there’s a chance the Tri-County area sees one more storm early this morning before fully clearing.
The remainder of the week will be much quieter and cooler. The heat wave is officially over after shattering a number of records. Temperatures today are dropping into the low to mid 80s today and will continue to drop for another couple days before leveling out. High temperatures will be in the low to mid 70s by Friday, which is near normal for this time of year.
Have a happy Wednesday!
