Warmer, sensible weather returns to Central Oregon this week
After a cool, cloudy, and slightly wet weekend, skies are clearing and temperatures are heating back up. The low pressure system that brought the change in weather over the weekend is exiting east today and a more zonal flow is taking over. Zonal flow means the general air flow is moving straight west to east. This often means stable, dry conditions and seasonably warm temperatures.
Highs today will be in the upper 70s and low 80s. You can plan for the 70s and 80s all week, ranging from near normal to upwards of 10 degrees above.
We’ll see sunshine today but clouds increase Tuesday as an upper level disturbance swings through. Then, clearing skies again. Clouds will roll in and out throughout the week, but that is the extent of the moisture and instability we have to work with. Relatively quiet conditions otherwise.
Happy Monday and have a great start to your week.
