Warm and sunny weekend ahead with hot temperatures next week

Temperatures today will top out in the mid 70s to low 80s. Plan for mostly sunny skies and an afternoon breeze. The weekend will stay sunny and dry.

Temperatures on Saturday will heat a few degrees, into the low 80s across the high desert. A ridge of high pressure will build over the weekend, which will have our temperatures on Sunday tipping into the 90s. Hot temperatures will continue into next week.

Monday, there is a chance for rain and isolated storms. An area of low pressure will dip into California, but could impact us as moisture wraps around the system. The hot temperatures will increase instability and therefore provide us with a chance for isolated storms. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like we’ll see the good, wetting rain that we are in need of. The potential for lightning will raise fire concerns. KTVZ News will continue to track the potential for storms through the weekend.

Happy Friday! Have a great weekend. Make sure to stay hydrated and cool as the hot weather approaches.
