Warm and dry today, hot Sunday, isolated storms possible Monday
Over the the weekend, I expect to see a warm day today with highs in the low 80s. There may be some clouds in the afternoon, but no rain should make it to the ground. Plenty of sunshine today so it will be a nice day to get out and enjoy the outdoor activities that are so prevalent here in Central Oregon.
Sunday will be much warmer; in fact, we are likely to get into the low 90s most locations. The threshold for me when it comes to hot vs. warm is 90-degrees so Sunday qualifies as hot in my book. There will be a mix of clouds and sun in the afternoon with more sun than clouds. It will be the mostly sunny skies that will allow us to get to the low 90s. The heat Sunday is coming around an area of high pressure to our southeast, over the Great Basin, and will help provide the hot air.
While all this heating is going on, an area of low pressure is developing off the coast of Central California. This low will spin off the coast Monday and possibly Tuesday, ushering in some moisture. The moisture and the heat of the day Monday will give us a chance to see some isolated storms in the afternoon. Some models suggest that this will occur again on Tuesday afternoon as well. Keep an eye to the sky Monday and again Tuesday, as well as the rain gear.
This slow moving low will move inland by the middle of the new work week and the threat for rain from that feature will come to an end. Temperatures Monday and Tuesday, even with the potential for storms will still reach the low 90s.  Upper 80s are likely on Wednesday and Thursday.
Please stay safe and have fun.
