Warm today, hotter days ahead

Good morning!

We’re in a quiet pattern for the next several days. Today stays warm and sunny, with highs in the 80s.

A ridge of high pressure is building off the coast, kicking off a warming trend. Starting tomorrow, we’ll be back in the 90s for several days.

Be sure to stay hydrated and reapply sunscreen often, especially if you’re spending a lot of time outside.

According to the latest Drought Monitor released yesterday, most of the area remains “abnormally dry,” with just a small part of NE Crook County in “moderate drought." This can have an impact on fire growth potential as drier grasses and brush ignite and burn at a higher pace.

Humidity will drop as the heat builds which will raise fire concerns. Winds should stay below critical levels through the weekend.

Hot and dry conditions are expected through the next several days with no significant rain in sight.

Enjoy the rest of your Friday!
