Local Alert Days, Round three today, round four Thursday
(KTVZ Bend, OR). Today is a Local Alert Day with the chance for some strong storms to develop in the afternoon and linger into the evening. The storms today will mark the third day in a row with storms developing in the heat of the day.

Monday a couple of cells generated significant rainfall and lightning in La Pine, Bend and Sisters before dissipating. Tuesday was much less active in the Tri-Counties, but still a couple of storms pushed through west of 97 and near the east face of the Cascades.
Today and Thursday will be much more robust and widespread. The storms should move through in the middle to late afternoon. The staying power of the storms will be greater today and tomorrow as the activity will last into the evening.
Expect to see the showers taper off after the midnight hour then another round of rain is likely off and on Thursday.
There is a Red Flag Warning in place until Thursday night at 11 pm. The storms are expected to be very electric, and with all the dry fuel on the ground and the windy and stormy pattern ahead, any fire start will possible spread very quickly.

The Thursday storms will be the last in the line of stormy days. The persistence of the storms today and Thursday may lead to some isolated and minor flooding.

Areas that have been burned last year may see some debris flows associated with the burn scars, so if you are out and about, and near the footprint of a recent (within a few years) wildfire, be advised that there may be a landslide or debris flow. Just one more thing to watch out for, but we want to keep you safe and informed.
Friday may see a rogue shower develop in the wake of the previous four-day run of storms, but very isolated.
Over the weekend a couple of afternoon pop and drop storms may also arrive in the heat of the day. Once again, if you are outside and hear thunder, get to a safe place.
Please, stay safe and informed.
