Prayers and support continue to pour in for Crook County’s Paige Wood
PRINEVILLE, Ore.(KTVZ) – Sports are unique. It’s not just about wins and losses, or the heartbreaks and triumphs. It’s about people coming together, growing, and supporting one another. It’s about creating a family. And Crook County's family is as strong as they come.
This weekend, one of their own, 16-year-old Paige Wood, suffered serious injuries in a car accident. While she continues her fight to recover at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland, her community is fighting with her in spirit back home in Prineville.
Dozens gathered at the Crook County High School track to pray for Paige, joining her family in hope and support. Wood has already undergone multiple surgeries, with her loved ones at her side.
In just days, more than $40,000 has been raised to help Paige and her family during this difficult time. Those who know her describe Paige as kind, uplifting, and a talented athlete.
In Prineville, they’ll stop at nothing to support one of their own. And just as the Crook County motto says — CC One Team.
