LOCAL ALERT WEATHER DAY: A wet and windy Wednesday

Bend, OR (KTVZ) -

THIS MORNING: Dense fog is being reported along 97 north of Bend. Visibility can drop quickly and will likely be reduced on your morning commute. Drive safely. A Dense Fog Advisory has been issued until 8am. Fog is expected to lift as winds pick up.

We’ve issued a Local Alert Weather Day due to the strong winds expected today. High winds when the ground is soaked from rain can increase the chance of localized damage and power outages due to trees toppling over. Winds will gust between 30-40mph this afternoon. Tie down or bring in any loose objects, like any left over Halloween decor or early holiday ones.

Stronger winds are expected for our close neighbors to the south. High Wind Warnings and Wind Advisories are active until tonight for much of Southern Oregon. Travel will be impacted if you are heading that way.

Winds will be gusty again tomorrow but today looks a little more robust.

Scattered showers will mostly be light but pockets of moderate rainfall are possible at times today. Rain continues Thursday before tapering off early Friday. Drier conditions are expected for your weekend plans.

Temperatures are in the 50s for the rest of the week.

Have a wonderful Wednesday.
