Sped-up progress: Time-lapse video shows last nine months of Bend Senior High construction in just a minute

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- A KTVZ News viewer shared with us Monday a time-lapse video that shows the last nine months of construction on the Bend Senior High project in just 60 seconds.

Kevin Desrosiers said the security camera on their building, at H2 PowerTech, grabs a photo every 30 minutes or so.

The estimatedĀ costĀ of the four-year project, including design and demolition, is just over $178 million, Bend-La Pine Schools Director of Communications Scott Maben told KTVZ News on Monday.

The funds come from a $250 millionĀ bondĀ measure approved by voters in November 2022. Maben said the finalĀ costs may exceed that amount due to the duration of the project and market conditions.

"We are on schedule to complete Phase 1 next summer," Maben said. ItĀ includes new administrative/office areas, commons, and a three-story classroom wing.

The next phase will begin next summer and is scheduled to be finished in 2028. It includes new gyms, an auditorium, kitchen and other classroom spaces.
