Chance for spotty showers through weekend, mild temperatures
BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - Rain chances continue into late Saturday, with a wintry mix possible overnight.
A couple inches of snow will fall across the Cascades, but not much is expected to make it to the High Desert Sunday morning.
Overnight lows will drop into the 30s.
Temperatures this weekend are well above freezing, so rain will be the primary precipitation type. We topped out in the low 50s today, and tomorrow stays mild with highs in the upper 40s.
Partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies are expected on Sunday. A couple of spotty showers are possible, but the bulk of the moisture stays in the mountains.
Snow continues in the Cascades tomorrow, helping rebuild base depths after recent mountain rain.
Monday is a bit cooler, topping out in the mid 40s with a mix of sun and clouds.
The next round of rain and mountain snow arrives late Tuesday.
Tuesday begins dry and cold, then clouds thicken as the day goes on. Snow moves into the Cascades late Tuesday evening, and it could be heavy at times. A welcome boost for the resorts!
As colder air arrives this week, snow levels drop and temperatures return to near normal. Expect periods of rain and snow off and on next week.
