Happy First Day of Spring Central Oregon!

The unusually warm temperatures Central Oregon enjoyed today are beginning to fade as a cold front approaches. According to the latest data from the National Weather Service here is what you can expect for the remainder of the evening and into the weekend.

Tonight’s Forecast

  • Conditions: Skies will remain mostly cloudy throughout the night.
  • Temperature: Expect a low near 45°F.
  • Precipitation: There is a 20-50% chance of light rain developing overnight, though total amounts are expected to be less than a tenth of an inch.
  • Wind: West winds of 5 to 15 mph will continue this evening, with occasional gusts up to 25-30 mph before becoming light after midnight.

Looking Ahead to Saturday

The arrival of the cold front will bring a noticeable temperature drop tomorrow.

  • Highs: Temperatures will top out in the mid to upper 50s, a significant cooling from today's highs in the 70s.
  • Sky: The morning may start with lingering clouds and a slight (20%) chance of rain, but conditions are expected to clear, leading to a sunny afternoon.
  • Saturday Night: Skies will be mostly clear with much colder overnight lows dipping into the mid to upper 20s.

Fire Weather Note: While a cold front is moving in to provide relief, the National Weather Service previously highlighted elevated fire weather risks today due to dry conditions and gusty winds. Residents should remain cautious until the higher humidity and cooler air fully arrive tomorrow morning.
