First Story’s affordable housing program breaks ground on new home in Bend

First Story

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- First Story is set to break ground on a new affordable home in Bend today. The nonprofit, alongside community partners, will begin building a new Hayden Home in the First Place community.

The home is being built for the Hammons family, who are working toward homeownership through First Story’s affordable housing program. The organization partners with builders, donors, and volunteers to create pathways to homeownership for families who may otherwise be priced out of the market.

KTVZ’s Claire Elmer will be attending the wall-raising event Wednesday. Tune in for her full report tonight on KTVZ News at 6:00p.m.
