REDMOND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Grace and Hammer restaurant in Redmond is expanding its offerings in its fourth month under new ownership. The establishment, housed in a historic building constructed in 1912, continues to operate after being purchased by a group of local friends in early 2026. The new owners aim to grow the legacy of the locals' favorite dining experience.

The group of long-term Central Oregonian friends acquired the real estate and business to ensure the historic structure remained and the pizza restaurant did not close. While maintaining the core menu, the restaurant has repaired major elements of the historic building and introduced new features.

The Grace and Hammer core team remains largely unchanged, with long-term employees Nikki, Russell and Payton moving into greater leadership positions. Collectively, these three employees have nearly 20 years of experience at Grace and Hammer. While the previous ownership and management duo have moved on, all other existing employees remain and a couple of new employees have also joined the team.

Among the new features is the introduction of live music, set to begin on Sundays in early July. Performances by talented local artists will take place on the restaurant's 1,000 square foot deck. The restaurant also plans to host open-mic events.

The restaurant is expanding its culinary offerings with new gluten-free entrees and appetizers, which will be intentionally cooked in an oven separate from the wood-fire oven. The popular monthly special pizza offering, “The Cubana,” is also returning next week.

Ken Streater, a new co-owner, emphasized the restaurant's connection to the community and its commitment to quality. “We are so glad Grace and Hammer is a part of the community and is doing well. The staff, some who have worked here since Grace and Hammer opened in 2019, are so dedicated to the happiness of our guests and the integrity of the offerings. Every item on the menu but one is made from scratch and our craft cocktails and beer selection is as good as it gets. Returning clients and new guests are grateful the Grace and Hammer legacy continues!” Streater said.

Significant repairs and updates have been made to the historic structure, including the replacement of the steeple roof. The deck and pergola have been completely freshened up. These improvements aim to enhance the dining experience while fully preserving the historic nature and spirit of the establishment.

Live music performances are scheduled to begin on Sundays in early July.
