WARM SPRINGS, Ore. (KTVZ) — Log hauling and road maintenance are set to get underway this summer in the Deschutes National Forest near Camp Sherman after Warm Springs Timber Company LLC received approval from the U.S. Forest Service. The work, which will take place along Forest Service roads 12 and 1290 in the Sisters Ranger District, is scheduled to continue through November 2026.

During the active period, the public should anticipate increased log truck traffic and road maintenance vehicles on these routes, especially during morning hours. Safety is a top priority for all road users and workers.

A Warm Springs Timber Company LLC representative said the company is “committed to conducting these operations safely and with minimal disruption to the public.” The representative added, “We appreciate the cooperation of local residents, recreationists and other forest users during this active period.”

Motorists are advised to drive with caution, watch for heavy commercial vehicles and be prepared for possible temporary delays or reduced speeds in active work zones.

Warm Springs Timber Company LLC is a tribally-owned enterprise of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs in Oregon. It was established to manage the reservation's natural resources following the closure of the tribes' former sawmill. The company holds the exclusive right to purchase and manage reservation timber.
