BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Hundreds of cyclists from around the world are in Central Oregon this week for the 2026 Oregon Trail Gravel Grinder, a five-day endurance cycling event that showcases the region’s rugged backroads and scenic landscapes.

The event challenges riders to cover roughly 350 miles of gravel roads and more than 20,000 feet of climbing across multiple stages in and around Central Oregon. Organizers describe it as one of the most demanding and logistically complex gravel cycling events in North America.

The Oregon Trail Gravel Grinder has become one of the Pacific Northwest’s premier gravel cycling events, drawing professional racers and recreational riders alike while bringing visitors to Central Oregon during the busy summer tourism season.

KTVZ’s Claire Elmer is following the event and will have a full report from the Oregon Trail Gravel Grinder tonight on KTVZ News at 6:00p.m.
