FIRE ALERT: Fire warning issued for Jefferson County, Here’s what we know

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ore. (KTVZ) -- A civil authority issued a fire warning for Jefferson County today. The warning includes a Level 3 “GO NOW” immediate evacuation order for specific areas of the county. The alert is effective from 1:47 p.m. to 4:47 p.m. today.

This is due to the Ten Mile fire, located North of Madras.

The evacuation order, issued by IPAWSCAP, requires residents to evacuate immediately from the eastern side of NE 12. This area extends from NE Coleman Road to the west side of Highway 97, continuing down to Lyle Gap.

The Level 3 “GO NOW” order instructs all individuals in the designated area to evacuate immediately. The message also included a Spanish translation, reiterating the urgency: “Nivel 3 - VAYASE AHORA - Evacue inmediatamente de The eastern side of NE 12 from NE coleman Rd to the west side of HWY 97 following down to Lyle Gap.”

Again, the fire warning and evacuation order for Jefferson County remains in effect until 4:47 p.m. today.
