Very warm and dry as firefighting efforts continue in the region

I have classified the wildfires in the area into two categories, the older and the newer fires. The older fires began with the lightning storms that came through two Wednesday's ago and ignited the Brewer, Akawa Butte, Box Springs, Rowe Creek Complex, Coyote and Henry Fires. This new batch of fires began with the lightning storm that come through this past Wednesday and sparked the Shingle, Bench, Beachcomb, Ten Mile and many more smaller fires that are being managed.

Saturday the fires has help from robust winds generally from the west and southwest the expanded the perimeters of almost all fires, new and old.

Today the area will be dry and breezy with highs in the upper 80s and a few low 90s. The parched fuels across the state are ripe to burn, so, once again, the fire fighters have their work cut out for them.

Fire growth today will be a concern as the number of firefighters and aircraft are spread thinly around the area.

Monday the weather will be similar to today with sunny and breezy conditions as highs approach 90. The forecast is calling for the same through the week. No rain is in the forecast for several days.

If it were not for the fires, this would be a very warm and sunny week to enjoy all of what Central Oregon has to offer, unfortunately, we have the dangerous fires throughout the region.
