12-year-old Hunter Michelsen is making a name for himself on the trails at Mount Bachelor

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ)--At just 12 years old, Hunter Michelsen is already turning heads with his mountain biking skills at Mount Bachelor.

While most kids his age are still learning the basics, Hunter spends his time tackling challenging trails and jumps, developing into one of the area's top young riders. He's been riding at Mount Bachelor since he was five years old, steadily building both his confidence and his passion for big mountain riding.

His growth on the bike has been just as rewarding for his family. Hunter's dad has watched him progress from a young rider learning the sport to a fearless athlete pushing himself on some of the mountain's toughest terrain.

Hunter's talent has also earned him attention beyond Central Oregon. He has built a strong following on social media, where more than 10,000 people follow along as he shares videos of his rides and biggest moments on the trails.

Like any mountain biker, crashes are part of the sport. But Hunter embraces the challenge. When a ride doesn't go as planned, he gets back up, dusts himself off and keeps riding.

Mountain biking isn't his only passion. During the winter months, Hunter trades his bike for skis, attacking the slopes with the same confidence and determination he shows on the trails.

With years of experience already under his belt and big goals for the future, Hunter Michelsen continues to prove that age is just a number. As he keeps pushing his limits at Mount Bachelor, there's little doubt he's only getting started.
