Warm and dry Tuesday with areas of smoke

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - We are dealing with smoke again this morning which has resulted in poor air quality. Although we should get some clearing by the afternoon, the smoke may return again overnight.

Expect highs in the upper 80s today, followed by the low to mid-80s for the rest of the week. Temperatures are returning to near-normal levels for early August.

Overnight lows will dip into the 40s and low 50s across Central Oregon.

Skies will remain mostly sunny over the next few days, but wildfire smoke could create hazy conditions. The most active fire in the Tri-Counties is still the southern section of the Rowe Creek Complex West Zone near Prineville.

Avoid outdoor activity when air quality is unhealthy. Smoke pollution can cause headaches, fatigue, throat irritation and difficulty breathing.

Some monsoonal moisture from the Desert Southwest could reach our region closer to the weekend, bringing the possibility of a stray shower or thunderstorm. While rain is much needed, lightning and gusty winds from any storms could increase fire danger.

Highs will return to the upper 80s on Saturday and Sunday.
