Red Flag Warning today due to possible storms

KTVZ-TV

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - We are transitioning into a more active weather pattern, bringing daily chances for showers and storms.

Some areas will be waking up to unhealthy air quality this morning. Throughout the day, the smoke looks to stay light to moderate across the Tri-Counties.

Today will start mostly sunny, but clouds will increase during the afternoon.

A few spotty showers or thunderstorms may develop during the heat of the day. High temperatures will reach the low to mid-80s.

A Red Flag Warning will be in effect from 1 to 9pm today due to the possibility of lightning and gusty winds. This will increase the risk for new fire starts or cause existing fires to spread faster.

There a is a dry thunderstorm threat today, which means the storms aren't likely to produce much rainfall.

Expect a mix of sunshine and clouds on Friday with a chance for isolated showers and storms. Temperatures will return to the mid 80s.

Saturday may also bring a spotty shower or thunderstorm during the afternoon and evening. Skies will be partly cloudy that day with high temperatures in the mid 80s.

Skies stay partly cloudy on Sunday with highs rising to the upper 80s. We will keep the 80s around into early next week. There is a broad chance for a few stray showers by the middle of next week, but no organized storm system is expected.
