Bend burglary suspect arrested by Redmond Police

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- A 38-year-old Bend resident faces four counts of first-degree burglary and one count of first-degree theft after police identified him as the suspect in a burglary and several attempted break-ins.

Michael Scott Delay was arrested following a joint effort by local law enforcement agencies.

Bend Police received a report at approximately 8:33 a.m. on Aug. 14 from a homeowner on SE Denver Drive who reported her home had been broken into and items stolen. Officers canvassing the neighborhood found surveillance video showing the suspect attempting to enter four other homes in the area.

With assistance from the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office, officers identified Delay as the suspect. Bend Police had previously contacted Delay on Aug. 13 for walking in the road less than 2 miles from the SE Denver Drive burglary location.

Redmond Police located Delay in the area of NE Blackfoot Court at approximately 7:37 p.m. on Aug. 14 and took him into custody. Delay was transported to the Deschutes County Jail.
