Bend Police: Two arrested following intentional car crash

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Bend police arrested two men Friday night after an intentional vehicle collision led to a roadside fight and an altercation with investigating officers near NE 27th Street and Forum Drive.

Officers responded at approximately 10:28 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 14, to reports of a crash in the area. Upon arrival, police determined that 41-year-old La Pine resident Scott Everett Mann had deliberately rammed his Toyota Tacoma into a white Volvo S60.

The collision left both vehicles blocking the road, where the occupants engaged in a brief physical fight prior to law enforcement's arrival.

Officers arrested Mann on suspicion of reckless driving, two counts of reckless endangering, unlawful use of a weapon, first-degree criminal mischief and second-degree disorderly conduct.

During the investigation, a family member of one of the individuals involved in the crash aggressively approached officers who were interviewing Mann. Police reported that 43-year-old Bend resident Gregory Charles Unruh interfered with the interview and attempted to fight with officers at the scene.

Unruh was arrested on suspicion of second-degree disorderly conduct, interfering with a police officer and assault of a public safety officer. Both Mann and Unruh were transported to the Deschutes County Jail.

The incident required a large police presence at the scene during the response and investigation.
