One injured in La Pine crash involving power pole and fence

LA PINE, Ore. (KTVZ) -- A single-vehicle crash in La Pine sent one person to the hospital Monday morning.

The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to the crash on Finley Butte Road at about 10:51 a.m.

Investigators say the driver of a Midstate Electric Ford F-150 hit a power pole, then went through a fence and onto private property.

The male driver was the only person in the truck. He was taken to St. Charles Bend by La Pine Rural Fire Protection District with minor injuries.

No other vehicles were involved, and no additional injuries were reported. Deputies say drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors.

The crash closed portions of Finley Butte Road and Wheeler Road for several hours as deputies investigated and Midstate Electric crews assessed the damage and worked to ensure the neighborhood was safe.

The roads have since reopened, but deputies are asking drivers to use caution as utility crews continue working in the area.

The crash remains under investigation.
