PRINEVILLE, Ore. (KTVZ) -- U.S. Rep. Cliff Bentz will host a town hall meeting on Aug. 27, in Prineville. The public gathering will take place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Barnes Butte Elementary School.

The meeting will focus on recent firefighting efforts and Wildfire Recovery Assistance Programs in Crook County. Attendees will also discuss pending federal legislation intended to reduce wildfire danger and damage in future years.

Representatives from various federal agencies are scheduled to attend the event at Barnes Butte Elementary School, located at 1875 NE Ironhorse Drive.

The Crook County Board of County Commissioners issued a notice stating that a quorum of the board may attend the meeting. Commissioners plan to listen and gather information, but will not speak, conduct deliberations, make decisions, execute documents or approve county actions.

Because the town hall is hosted by Bentz rather than the county, Crook County will not provide remote attendance options. Individuals seeking information about available remote access can contact Bentz's Medford office at 541-776-4646.

Community members who require disability assistance, language interpretation or communication aids must provide five days' advance notice to the Crook County Administration Office at 541-447-6555 or by contacting Eric Blaine by email.
