There’s Good News: Madras teen becomes first Jefferson County Eagle Scout in 15 years

MADRAS, Ore. (KTVZ) -- A Madras teen is celebrating a major scouting milestone.

Giovanni Martinelli started scouting ten years ago as a Wolf Cub Scout, and now he's earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He's also the first Eagle Scout from Jefferson County in 15 years.

For his Eagle Project, Martinelli designed and built two large planter boxes at Madras High School, using native, low-water plants. He organized donations and volunteers, including Scouts, students and veterans.

Cngratulations, Giovanni! Way to set a positive example for young men everywhere.
