Warm weather continues until Friday front brings a chill

KTVZ-TV

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - Happy Tuesday all! We are tracking the continuation of warm and dry conditions through most of the week, with above-normal temperatures continuing into Friday. However, the timing of our next cold front has moved up, with the front now expected to arrive Friday afternoon bringing cooler weather for the weekend.

That means Friday will not be quite as warm as originally expected, with highs only reaching the mid-70s before the front moves through. Slightly breezier winds are also expected on Friday, which could create some elevated fire weather concerns. However, nothing out of the ordinary is expected from this next system.

Rain chances will slightly increase Friday evening into the weekend, but we certainly do not expect a major storm for Central Oregon. A few sprinkles or light showers are possible, although most of the rain should stay in the mountains. In addition- higher elevations could see a little snowfall Saturday night into Sunday as snow levels drop. Again- not much is expected from this next storm system.

For Bend and much of Deschutes, Crook and Jefferson counties, the high desert floor should remain mostly dry. The bigger change will be the return of cooler temperatures heading into the weekend, with a potential for freezing temperatures early next week.

Enjoy the warm weather while it lasts folks!
