Above normal through Friday, temperatures tumble this weekend

KTVZ

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - You can look forward to another beautiful day with plenty of sunshine. Daytime highs will rise into the low to mid 80s.

Thursday will bring similar temperatures and mostly sunny skies.

Enjoy the warmth while it’s here...a big cooldown arrives this weekend!

The high pressure keeping us warm and dry will shift west, allowing a cooler system from the Gulf of Alaska to move in.

Friday will start sunny, with clouds increasing throughout the day. Highs will fall into the low to mid 70s, still above normal for early October.

A cold front will bring stronger winds, and those gusty conditions combined with dry air could increase fire concerns in parts of Central Oregon.

Moisture will be limited, so the tri-counties look mostly dry this weekend, with light precipitation most likely over the mountains.

Highs will drop into the mid 50s Saturday, putting us below normal.

Sunday could be even cooler, with some areas only reaching the upper 40s. We’re also watching for the season’s first widespread frost or freeze Sunday night into early Monday morning.

Highs will return to the mid 50s Monday and the low 60s Tuesday.

Sweater weather is making a comeback!
