Frost tonight, Chance of Rain and Snow Sunday

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) – Sunshine continues across Central Oregon this afternoon, with temperatures climbing to around 52 degrees. North winds will stay fairly light, around 5 to 10 mph.

Clearer skies will give way to partly cloudy conditions tonight, with temperatures dropping to around 33 degrees. Areas of frost are expected to develop after 11 p.m., so be sure to protect sensitive plants and cover them before temperatures fall. Winds will become calm during the evening.

Sunday brings a cooler, unsettled pattern. There is a slight chance of rain and snow showers during the morning, mainly between 8 and 11 a.m. The chance of precipitation is 20%, so most locations will likely stay dry. Snow levels will start around 3,800 feet before rising to about 4,600 feet in the afternoon.

Clouds will linger throughout the day, with highs reaching only around 45 degrees. North winds will increase to 7 to 15 mph, with gusts up to 25 mph, making it feel even cooler at times.

Sunday night stays mostly cloudy, with temperatures falling to around 29 degrees. Northwest winds will run 5 to 10 mph, with gusts up to 25 mph.

The main weather concerns are frost tonight, a slight chance of rain and snow showers Sunday morning, and chilly temperatures continuing into Sunday night.
