Kiefer Leutschaft’s legacy honored by Wild Ride Brewing at Oregon Ducks games

REDMOND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Oregon Ducks football fans will have a new way to support mental health awareness at home games this season. Central Oregon's Wild Ride Brewing is bringing Kiefer Magic Peach Hazy IPA to the grab-and-go section of the Moshofsky Center for the team's final three regular season home games of 2026.

The craft beer honors Kiefer Leutschaft, a University of Oregon graduate and devoted Ducks fan who died by suicide in 2021 at age 26. Wild Ride Brewing partnered with Leutschaft's family to create the beverage, using game-day traditions and craft beer to raise awareness for mental health initiatives.

The beer distribution is tied to broader efforts by Magic, which recently launched its website, www.kiefermagic.org, and operates as an independent 501(c)(three) nonprofit organization. The organization is developing a postvention initiative designed to help families and individuals navigate life after losing someone to suicide. The initiative aims to connect survivors with practical wraparound support and existing community resources so they do not have to navigate the experience alone.

Julie Leutschaft, Kiefer's mother, founded Magic to turn her family's loss into community action. “Having Magic beer available at Oregon games is especially meaningful to our family,” Leutschaft said. “The University of Oregon was a big part of Kiefer's life and we love that his legacy can be part of the game-day experience while supporting a cause that matters so much to us.”

Wild Ride Brewing, which operates locations in Redmond and Prineville, Ore., has previously supported Kiefer's legacy through local events and community fundraising partnerships. “Though Kiefer's death was tragic, it created Magic,” Leutschaft said. “We're grateful to Wild Ride Brewing and everyone who continues to support this mission. Every conversation we start and every person we help is another way to keep his magic alive.”

The beer will be available in the Moshofsky Center during three home games in 2026: Oct. 31 against Northwestern, Nov. 14 against Michigan and Nov. 28 against Washington.
