BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- As students prepare to end a school year like no other, teachers at Cascades Academy have come up with a fun way for students and families to say goodbye to their teachers this Wednesday.

All of the families with students in grades pre-K through 5 have been invited to a Wave Parade from 3:00-5:00 pm this Wednesday afternoon.  As families drive through the traffic circle in front of the school, the entire lower school faculty will be there with bubbles, noisemakers, soakers, and other fun ways to wave goodbye to their students and usher in summer.

"Our students and families have been so flexible and open to navigating all of the changes that the Covid-19 pandemic brought about, and we want to give them a fun, celebratory way to say goodbye to their teachers and to this school year," said Julie Amberg, Head of School.  "Given our emphasis on community and relationships, it felt  important to offer this closure and opportunity to say goodbye, while still keeping social distancing requirements in mind." said Amberg.
