Bend electronic road sign changed to ‘Black Lives Matter’

Black Lives Matter road sign

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- An electronic road construction sign in Bend was changed to read 'Black Lives Matter' on Farewell Drive, near Awbrey Butte.

Viewers sent NewsChannel 21 pictures of the sign.

The city of Bend told us they programmed it Monday to advise drivers of an upcoming chip-seal project.

Within 24 hours, an anonymous individual changed it to read 'Black Lives Matter.'

The city said it went out Tuesday and changed it back, also locking the control panel so it can't be changed again.
