La Pine Community Health Center buys its land, adjacent property
La PINE, Ore. (KTVZ) -- The nonprofit La Pine Community Health Center announced it closed Friday on the purchase of the building and property at 51600 Huntington Road where it has been tenants for over 10 years.Â
Along with this, it also purchased the empty parcel of land at 51601 Bluewood Avenue that sits adjacent to the Huntington Road property.
After considering this purchase for the past few years, knowing that the investment would ultimately reduce their operating costs and secure a long-term home for their growing organization, LCHC received a loan from the U.S. Department of Agriculture through the Rural Development Community Facilities Program for the existing building and self-financed the additional land.Â
The nonprofit did not report the purchase price, but spokeswoman Courtney Ignazzitto said the move will increase the facility's bottom line by more than $180,000 a year, "an incredible advantage over continuing to pay rent that increases each year."
The health center has plans for building on the adjacent lot over the next few years in order to expand its services for the community.Â
