Coos Bay man, 83, tied up, robbed at home
COOS BAY, Ore. (AP) — Police say two men claiming to be from a power company and the sheriff’s office tied an 83-year-old man to a chair at his house and robbed him at gunpoint.
Sgt. Pat Downing of the Coos County Sheriff’s Office says one of the two suspects told Ray Lahaise he was from the power company, then pulled a gun on him and said he was from the sheriff’s office.
A man living on Lahaise’s property came home and found Lahaise tied to a chair, struggling to free himself.
The World reports ( http://bit.ly/MM5hHS ) 30-year-old Aaron Beam and 35-year-old Justin Arriola, 35, are being held at the Coos County Jail.
Each faces charges of second-degree robbery, second-degree kidnapping, first-degree burglary, unlawful use of a weapon and criminal impersonation of an officer.
