ODOT plans Bend Parkway maintenance work

ODOT highway maintenance crews will be tying up traffic lanes as they conduct operations on the Bend Parkway in the upcoming week.

Beginning Sunday, October 28, crews will be felling dead trees in the Parkway median, south of Empire Blvd. These are trees that have been previously identified as danger trees as they have died and are deteriorating. Other live trees will remain.

This operation will be performed from about 7AM until noon, with intermittent lane closures both northbound and southbound.

Continuing on Monday, crews will be reducing vegetation in the median along the entire length of the Parkway, from about 8AM until 3PM, Monday through Thursday. Fast-lane closures in both directions are to be expected.

Motorists are urged to drive safely as these maintenance operations are under way.
