Rapa Nui in Bend’s Old Mill District to Close

KTVZ-TV

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Bend's Rapa Nui Tiki Bar is closing following five years of serving Central Oregon.

In a social media post, the establishment said, "We are incredibly sad to announce that Rapa Nui is closing. Circumstances at our current location have ultimately made this decision for us, but who knows, maybe one day we’ll be slinging rum again."

You can read the post below:

Five years ago, three guys set out to open a little pop-up tiki bar in Bend during COVID. Somehow, that pop-up turned into five incredible years of making great friends, supporting a community across the globe through our mug sales, creating a whole lot of memories, and, of course, drinking plenty of rum along the way.

We are incredibly sad to announce that Rapa Nui is closing. Circumstances at our current location have ultimately made this decision for us, but who knows, maybe one day we’ll be slinging rum again.

For now, we simply want to say thank you. Thank you to all of the locals who supported us, to Saxon’s for always being there to help, and most of all, to our amazing team. Through thick and thin, we’ve had some truly incredible people work alongside us over these past five years, and they are what we will miss most of all.

This is our final week. We’ll be open every day at 3:00 p.m. through this Friday. Please stop by, share a laugh, drink some rum, and help us close this chapter in true Rapa Nui style.

Thank you again, Bend. Until next time, cheers!
