A reward has been increased to up to $1,000 following the discovery Sunday of two more illegally killed deer, one of which was also found headless, southeast of Bend, bringing the total to six in recent weeks.

In conjunction with a previously offered $500 reward through the Turn-In-Poachers (TIP) program, an additional $500 reward has been added by the Oregon Hunters Association Ochoco Chapter in Crook County for information leading to an arrest in these cases.

On Sunday, two more dead deer, one a headless buck with meat removed and the other a doe left to waste, were found about seven miles south of a location that was the subject of a report received Nov. 17 ,when two people filming winter range deer found four deer unlawfully killed and left to waste in the Kotzman Basin area south of Highway 20 in Deschutes County.

In the first incident, three dead deer were found together and a fourth was found south near Forest Road 23, troopers said.

Three of the four deer had their heads removed. Information indicates these deer were shot during daylight in the late afternoon hours on Friday , November 16 .

Anyone with information regarding these cases is asked to call the TIP line at 1-800-452-7888 or contact Senior Trooper Menlow at (541) 419-1651.
