‘Wine for Hay’ benefits Equine Outreach

An above-the-norm number of rescues coupled with this year’s drought-driven high hay prices have made hay a huge investment for Equine Outreach this winter.

This unique Bend-based rescue’s mission is to “facilitate the rescue, rehabilitation, adoption, and permanent placement of abused and neglected horses in Deschutes County and Central Oregon.” Currently they house approximately 140 rescued horses, consuming 400 tons of hay annually.

We’ll be tracking progress on Facebook with weekly updates showing how many bales of hay we’ve been able to contribute to the cause!
