Deschutes SO joins holiday traffic safety effort

KTVZ

The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office will participate in a statewide traffic safety campaign focusing on DUII enforcement during the 2012 holiday season.

The campaign will run from December 14, 2012 through January 1, 2013.

As part of the campaign, the sheriff’s office will increase traffic patrols directly focusing on DUII-related investigations.

The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office along with the Oregon Department of Transportation encourages all drivers and passengers to make a conscious effort to use their seat belt at all times while traveling in a motor vehicle, regardless of the distance traveled.

Furthermore, we encourage all drivers to drink responsibly. If drivers intend to drink, please plan ahead and use a designated driver, taxi service, or public transportation.

The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office will be partnering with agencies throughout the State of Oregon for this campaign.
