Heart of Oregon Corps announces grant
Heart of Oregon Corps announced that it was awarded $6,000 in funding for its Central Oregon Youth Conservation Corps crews in Deschutes and Klamath counties.
he summer “work, learn, earn” program allows high school aged youth to perform environmental conservation projects on local public lands while earning wages and high school credit and gaining access to college scholarships.
Heart of Oregon Corps is one of eleven nonprofit organizations in Deschutes and Klamath County to receive funding from the Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation (CCUID) during the most recent grant cycle. Since 1997, the CCUIF has awarded $12,540,653 in grants to nonprofit organizations dedicated to youth development and making positive social impact in the Cow Creek Tribe’s traditional homelands, a 7-county area spanning southwestern Oregon.
