Free small-biz counseling offered at libraries
Oftentimes, small business owners wind up wearing many hats. On Saturday, business counselors talked with several of them, to help make sure they are on the road to success.
SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives) business counselors met with clients at the Redmond Public Library.
One of the counselors, Bruce Michalski, says one of the costly mistakes small business owners make is not having a business plan.
If business owners don’t have a plan, Michalski says, you don’t know how to measure what you’ve done, or what you are going to do.
“A business plan should be tailored to their needs,” said Michalski. “It shouldn’t be a massive 1,000-page business plan, if they don’t need it. It just really needs to be tailored to their unique individual usage.”
The free small business counseling sessions will be available at the Redmond Public Library on the fourth Saturday of each monthm from 10 a.m. to noon.
SCORE counselors are also available every Tuesday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the downtown Bend Public Library.
