Redmond Public Works Dept. honored

The City of Redmond Public Works Department recently was honored with the Redmond Chamber of Commerce & CVB’s President’s Choice Award.

Chamber President, Dustin Hewitt, selected the City of Redmond Public Works Department as this year’s recipient for their contributions to the community throughout the year, including their outstanding customer service record and problem solving ingenuity.

The award winners were revealed at the Chamber’s annual Small Business Awards Banquet, held Friday, January 25, at the Eagle Crest Convention Center. The event annually recognizes businesses and organizations in the Redmond area who have demonstrated outstanding efforts in their business practices and community work.

Public Works Director, Bill Duerden was honored to accept the President’s Choice Award along with Curt Petersen, Parks Division Manager and Brad Haynes, Transportation Lead Worker. “The Public Works crew takes a lot of pride in the high level of support they provide to the community. It is very special to see that effort recognized with this honor, particularly when it is bestowed in front of 220+ local business leaders and our elected officials”, remarks Bill Duerden.

The City of Redmond Public Works Department is the City’s largest department and is comprised of a staff of 57 employees, who are responsible for the construction, renovation and operation of City facilities, infrastructure, the parks system and water utilities.
