The Bend Park & Recreation District Board of Directors appointed Dan Fishkin as the newest board member at their Tuesday, February 19th meeting to fill a vacancy created by Dallas Brown’s resignation in January.

Fishkin is a business attorney with 35 years of professional experience as a lawyer, developer and business consultant.

After relocating to Bend six years ago, he became an active volunteer in the community.

He served as a member of the Bend Park and Recreation District Budget Committee from 2008-2011 and as a Director of the Tower Theatre Foundation Board from 2011-2012.

A graduate of the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Citizen’s Academy, Bend Police Department Citizen’s Academy and Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Academy, he is currently a member of the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Team. Fishkin and his wife have a teenage son who is involved in local youth sports and BPRD recreation activities.
