BendFilm adds board members
BendFilm announced that it has added three new board members and pays recognition to its advisory committee.
New board members James Foster, Karen Koppel and Pam Wakefield join President Frank Groundwater and Secretary April Munks, along with Kim Cooper Findling, Michael Gough and Gina McClard. The organization also recognizes its advisory committee, which consists of 18 members of the community.
Orit Schwartz, Festival Director, said, “Our festival is known for having a strong volunteer culture and included among our important volunteers is our board and our advisory committee. They give their time and talent to make this festival run and we could truly not do it without them.”
Karen Koppel, an event professional and architect, has worked on the 2002 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in Salt Lake City. She has also worked on two Olympic Games, two Olympic bids, World Cup Cricket, and a number of Super Bowls and Pro Bowls.
James (Jim) Foster is Professor of Political Science at OSU-Cascades. Prior to joining the Founding Faculty of the Bend Campus in 2001, Foster was on the Political Science faculty at the main OSU Campus in Corvallis for seventeen years, twelve of those years as Political Science Department Chair.
Pam Wakefield, was the owner of a local graphics firm for 20 years until retiring in 2010. She has attended 4 different universities, majoring in everything from music to computer science and her interests are vast. In 2012 Pam served on the 2012 BendFilm selection committee.
