“Family Kitchen will reopen Tuesday, March 12 th with our regularly scheduled dinner service,” President of the Board of Trustees, Pat Roden announced Monday.

That will be six days after an apparent arson fire damaged two Trinity Episcopal Church buildings.

“We are grateful to all the agencies who have stepped up to make this happen so quickly.” Roden continued, “We have just been cleared by the Health Department, the Building Department and the Fire Department to resume normal operations in our home at 231 NW Idaho Avenue.”

Family Kitchen has been serving the nutritional needs of the hungry in Bend for the last 27 years. They are currently serving close to 5,000 meals per month and served over 53,255 meals in 2012. They also provide “Bag Lunches” to Central Oregon Veterans Outreach for delivery to area homeless camps.
