Redmond seeks citizens for S. Hwy. 97 panel

KTVZ

The City of Redmond is seeking volunteers from the community to participate on a Project Advisory Committee to advise the City on revitalization efforts recommended in the Redmond South US 97 Corridor Plan – a master plan developed between 2008 and 2010 to improve the economic viability and access of the South US 97 Corridor.

With valuable citizen input, we can help transform this important vehicular and business corridor into a great front door to our community and demonstrate Redmond’s great civic pride!

The vision for the future of the South US 97 corridor calls for a vibrant business district that is safe and accessible to shoppers traveling by car, bike, or on foot, is aesthetically pleasing, and an area that provides opportunities for business and community interaction and for traffic to move efficiently in all directions.

To help turn that vision into reality, the City is initiating the next phase of the South US 97 Corridor Plan, which is deciding how to implement the numerous changes and physical improvements recommended in the Plan. The City is seeking broad community input, along with City of Redmond and Oregon Department of Transportation officials to participate on the Project Advisory Committee to help guide the implementation of Corridor Plan elements.

The deadline for participation on the Project Advisory Committee is 5:00PM on March 29, 2013. If you are interested, please call Scott Woodford, Associate Planner with the City of Redmond, at 541-923-7758 or email him at scott.woodford@ci.redmond.or.us for details and an application.
