Oregon State Police said they are seeking witnesses related to a reckless driving arrest of a Redmond man late Wednesday morning on Highway 26 east of Government Camp.

Around 11:09 a.m.,OSP Northern Command Center dispatch received reports of a white four-door passenger car with Oregon license plates westbound on Highway 26 near milepost 86 being operated recklessly.

The reported driving included near-collisions, failing to maintain a lane of travel and traveling on the wrong side of highway. Some people reported being run off the road, troopers said.

At 11:33 a.m., Senior Trooper Mike Holloran stopped the white 2012 Honda Civic four-door near milepost 61, about seven miles west of Government Camp.

Several witnesses also stopped at the scene. Subsequent contact led to the arrest of the 27-year old driver, Douglas Charles Watson Jr., for reckless driving. He was lodged at Northern Oregon Regional Correctional Facility (NORCOR) in The Dalles.

Holloran is asking for contact from any witnesses who didn’t stop at the traffic stop scene to call for a statement at (541) 980-1019.
