Redmond man accused of shooting neighbor’s window
A 33-year-old Redmond man was arrested early Friday, accused of firing a shotgun blast that broke out a neighbor’s window but caused no injuries, police said.
Officers were dispatched around 11:20 p.m. Thursday on a report of a shot fired in the area that broke a window in their home, said Lt. Keith Knight.
A preliminary investigation indicated the damage came from a shotgun fired from the yard of neighbor Ronald Arthur Garzini, Knight said.
Garzini was contacted later and taken into custody without incident, the lieutenant said, adding that the suspect’s home later was raided with a search warrant.
Garzini was lodged at the Deschutes County Jail in Bend, facing charges of felon in possession of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon, reckless endangering and criminal mischief.
Knight said the shotgun broke out a window on the back side of the home while someone was home, though not in the part of the house.
“It appears random at this point,” Knight said regarding a motive, adding that he could not say whether alcohol might have been involved.
